With the Constrictor, Cousin has developed a simple yet ingenious rope-stopping system that uses an aramid cover to hold a line in the gentlest and safest possible way. Unlike conventional stoppers, the Constrictor® system does not pinch the rope between two metal surfaces. Instead, the loaded line is securely held within an aramid braided sleeve, which is itself attached to a base unit.
The line runs freely through the sleeve in one direction, but is immediately locked when it moves in the opposite direction. This patented constriction effect ensures increased holding power as the load increases.
